The Capuchin reform is distinguished for that radical quality I mentioned earlier, as the Church itself has not failed to remind us: ready to go where no-one else is willing to go and to do so joyfully. Only someone with a loving heart who wants the good of his most abandoned brothers
and sisters is capable of this.
Living in fraternity
There are around 10,500 Brothers present in 100 countries (December 2009) who belong to the Order of the Capuchin Friars Minor and who live their life, first and foremost by sharing fraternal life throughout the day in the setting of a local fraternity.
We are an evangelical brotherhood. Jesus of Nazareth is our guide for a simple and humble life among the people. The life of Christ, Holy Scriptures, St. Francis and his writings give us inspiration.
Living the Gospel
After the Lord gave me some brothers, no one showed me what I had to do, but the Most High Himself revealed to me that I should live according to the pattern of the Holy Gospel. Testament of St. Francis of Assisi, 14
We are brothers
We are brothers. We live in fraternity, pray as individuals and in community, share meals and time together, helping each other to grow, just like in a family. Our communities, called friaries, are joyful and hospitable places.
