CENOC: Starts new inter-provincial Novitiate

OXFORD, England – The Conference of Capuchins of Northwest Europe began a new experience in initial formation. After having begun a common novitiate for the German-Speaking Provinces in Salzburg, they have started a new English-speaking inter-provincial novitiate. Five novices from Malta, Ireland and Great Britain received the Capuchin habit on the Feast of the Stigmata of St. Francis, September 17, 2009. The novitiate is located in the former Greyfriars Hall in Oxford. After having completed the postulancy year in their respective Provinces, they came together for a common two-month pre-novitiate programme.

This inter-provincial collaboration in formation began some years ago between the Provinces of Ireland and Great Britain. The participation of the Maltese Province is an extension of this process. The Novice Master is Br. Adrian Curran of the Irish Province. He is assisted by Br. Ivan Scicluna of the Province of Malta.
