Towards the Ratio formationis ordinis FRASCATI -
The need for a Ratio Formationis
(Basic Formation Programme)
for the whole Order is expressed in the
need of the times and the calls of the
Church (cf Vita Consacrata 68). On many
occasions this need has been expressed by
the Order itself. The general Minister with
his Defi nitory, taking up the wishes of
formators, entrusted to the SGF the task
to work on a Ratio Formationis Ordinis. In
fact from 25 April to 1 May, all the UGF
(SGF and CIF) held an Assembly at Frascati
and took the fi rst steps in this enterprise.
This is certainly not an easy task but we
cannot continue to postpone it. In the fi rst
part of the Assembly the interventions of
Br Paolo Martinelli, President of the IFS,
and Fr Sante Bisignano (OMI), professor
at the Urbaniana, gave a good stimulus on
a study picturing the intercultural realities
in which the Ratio has to move and which
methodological ways it has to follow. After
a day of study at the Antonianum on the
theme “The Franciscan Vocation today in
our world: Challenges and Opportunities”,
in the second part of the Assembly several
other witnesses from other religious
Orders made presentations. These spoke
about their projects for a Ratio and the
results obtained in these last few years. The
speakers in this second part were Br Vidal
Vidal Rodriguez Lopez, general secretary
for formation of the Friars Minor (OFM)
and Don Beppe Roggia (SDB), professor
at the Pontifi cal Salesian University. The
results of the Assembly will be presented
to the General Minister who will then give
the indications to follow while continuing
with this process.
Nuovo blog dell’UGF
Through its own blog
“Ravviviamo la fi amma del
nostro carisma” (Enliven the fl ame
of our Charism), the General Offi ce
of Formation would like to enhance
communication with the all the Brothers
of the Order and in a special way with
those Brothers who work in formation.
The service of animation of the UGF
aims to promote the work of both initial
and ongoing formation, which will be
made known in this blog through news
about its activities. It would like also to
offer greater possibilities to follow the
important work of Formation with
greater attention.
