Capuchin Meeting on Migration ROME - Four weeks from now, European Capuchins will be meeting in Cracow to reflect on the phenomenon of migration. A whole week, 7th to 14th November 2010, will be devoted to the topic, and it is hoped that concrete steps will be agreed to tackle some of the problems involved. These include: the integration of the newcomers into a different culture while maintaining their own identity. This is a challenge faced by all European countries today. Can we think of a “Capuchin” response to the challenges posed by immigration? The search for concrete responses must begin with a look at the different social contexts in which the friars live and work. Our General Minister, who is particularly concerned about this topic, invites as many brothers as possible to attend, so that the reflection and sharing will be enriched. The co-ordinator of the meeting, Br. Bernd Beermann, says there are still places available for anyone who has not yet booked.
The final deadline for booking a place is November 6, 2010, using the following address: jpe@ofmcap.org. jpe@ofmcap.org.
