FRASCATI – “Called to Inspire”, is the title of the annual in-service training course for newly-elected Ministers. This year, from 23-30 January, 23 new Ministers gathered at Frascati with the General Minister and his definitory and officials of the General Curia. As many of the participants pointed out in the evaluation, the meeting was clearly an international one, as the variety of faces and languages showed. All were keen to learn, to meet the faces behind the names and titles, to share common problems and find new approaches. The ministry of authority, like any other, requires an apprenticeship and there is much to learn and reflect upon. For its part, the General administration of the Order welcomed the concerns expressed by the Ministers and promised, as always, to support them in every way possible. The value of these annual meetings was once again demonstrated: they provide an opportunity for all to broaden their horizons, to increase the sense of belonging to a world-wide Order and to make participation and shared responsibility in governance a reality in all the circumscriptions.
